• Our flat covered unit (model#FW-1) has been christened by fellow scientists as the “The Rodent Recovery Cage”, fitting perfectly into an 18” holding cage. Provides “Safe Heat” without hot spots eliminating the fire hazards and dangerous effects of heat lamps and presenting a natural environment where the animal is radiantly heated from the surface. Drawing only the power of a 75 watt light bulb, may be left plugged in 24/7 eliminating the attention required by hot water bottles, microwave hot sacks, or the multiple threats of electric heating pads and lamps.
  • Adding a Domed or Flat Cover to the Warmer along with the accessory box turns the Warmer into an ICS Unit offering the presentation of oxygen, humidity and nebulization or medicated nebulization. For post operative patients, patients in shock, and all cases of hypothermia this “Safe Heat” environment is enhanced through the presentation of respiratory therapies. The flat cover includes a divider turning the warmer into 2 separate compartments with access to the rodents on either end.
  • Velcro straps at the front of the dome cover are an added safety precaution against fractious animals, especially those coming out of anesthesia.
  • The addition of the optional oxygen generator allows prolonged use without a dedicated O2 line as a stand-alone chamber, or in-home use. Also the optional air compressor allows more economical nebulization as that therapy does not require oxygen.
  • Heated or unheated covered units include swing-away venting hand ports that allow access to the animal without opening the unit, or to back off IV lines and probes, and to vent off excess heat, humidity, and carbon dioxide.
  • Heated or unheated units include a temperature/humidity gauge at the front to monitor the internal environment.
